Sarah is one of many humaniod AI experiments runned by the scientists at the spacestation luna-4.
There are many things that make sarah very different from the other AI experiments so she was put into an artificial environment where she was adopted by a rich family.
She often played with the extended family's children and sometimes with other AI.
The experiment was designed so that sarah would think she was a real human with real human emotions.
This worked out better than expected as she developed a curious nature beyond control.
When she was able to play on the grassfields surrounding the castle labs she often ran towards the outer walls, always wondering what lied on the other side.
Fearing another accident such as the 'digital radiation' one a few thousand years ago, the scientists never let the AI run free outside the walls and they were always put on surveillance.
But sarah, being so human like could be trusted more and the scientists felt like they were monitoring their own child. So they turned the surveillance off at night time.
This would only aid in sarah's escape.
